I've been thinking lately about what kind of person I want to strive to be. There are a lot of people in my life that have impacted who I am today and who I want to be! They are my heroes!
First and foremost is my mother dearest! She is such an example to me everyday. Even though she doesn't like it, she goes to work and then comes home and tries to take care of us uncooperative kids. We don't realize how much she does for us and I myself need to pay more attention and acknowledge her for all that she does for me and my siblings.
My dad. He is a worker. If I can work half as hard as my dad works, I will be good. If I find a man half as good as my dad I will also be set :)
My Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the ultimate example of the perfect person. One day I was thinking to myself that I wish I had a big brother and then I remembered that I do. We all need to be more Christlike in our everyday lives. He is the most humble, patient, loving, kind, caring person that this world has ever seen. He suffered and died for all of us. If I can become a little more like Him everyday I will be on my way to obtaining exaltation.
My Father in Heaven. He loves me so much that He was willing to make a plan for me so that I could return to live with Him. He gave me my life and I owe Him so much. I was reading the other day that there is nothing we really can give back to our Father in Heaven. Everything we have is truly His. The only thing that is really ours that we can give back to Him is our agency. Our agency is the only thing that really belongs to us. Nobody can make us choose right or wrong. Only we can. Our agency gives us that power. We need to use our agency wisely and follow Heavenly Father. That is the only way we can repay Him for everything He has done for us.
Also on my list of heroes are:
-Brianna Pahl
-Taylor Pahl
-Keira Pahl
-Grandma Clements
-Grandpa Clements
-Paula Clements
-Grandma Pahl/Wilberg
-Katy Pond
-Haley Dawes
-Amber Quent
-Lindsay Bell
-Alicia Jensen Bytheway
-Davenport cousins - all of you, even your spouses. :)
These are in no particular order and if you are not on there, don't feel bad, this is just a quick list. If I listed all my heroes this list would be never ending and you would be reading forever. For every person in my life there is some way that makes them my hero. I am so blessed to have people in my life that can bring me up in different ways just by being my friend. I want to thank you all for blessing my life.
Quick mission update: I have completed my dentist and doctor visits and paperwork!! So now I just need to see what I need to do next. :) I'm super excited to have the opportunity to go and serve the Lord and potentially bring people to have a knowledge of the gospel! I have been so blessed to have grown up in the church and I can't imagine passing up the opportunity to go and serve a full-time mission and share the blessing I have! Although it is a scary adventure that I have ahead of me, there is no room for fear in my life as long as I have the Lord by my side.
Thanks for reading :)

The last little while summed up in a blog post...
So I've recently been obsessed with looking at other people's profiles and seeing what they are up to in their lives because I don't talk to them a lot anymore. So I get my information from reading their blogs! I've decided to start my own blog so that whoever might want to know, they can see what I've been up to in my life recently.
After I graduated high school in 2009, I moved up to Rexburg, Idaho to attend Brigham Young University - Idaho. I attended there for three semesters and I am so glad that I made that decision because I made so many friends while I was up there and I hope I continue to be friends with them.
I then transferred down to Brigham Young University in January 2011. I attended for that Winter semester and then for the summer I moved back home. While I was living at home, I found out that I didn't get into the Nursing Program at BYU for the fall semester. This was something that I was really hoping would turn out differently so that I could continue my journey through life doing the things that I want to do. Since I didn't get in, it made me do a lot of thinking. I knew that I was soon to turn 21 - mission age for girls. I wasn't sure if going on a mission was the right thing for me but I knew I couldn't throw that option out the window without praying about it first. As I was seeking guidance and inspiration I felt that I needed to go on a mission.
So that is my next step in my life and I am working on my papers at the moment. I have my dentist and doctor appointments this week and I hope to have my papers in by the end of the month.
Until I go on my mission, I am working so that I can pay my student loans off before I go. I work at a place called Sorenson Communications and I work in CaptionCall. Sorenson Communications is a company that provides phones and services for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. CaptionCall is the portion who provides for the hard-of-hearing. Basically what I do is I am listening to the conversation and relaying what the person is saying to the computer and the computer types it out. Then through the internet, the words are sent to the hard-of-hearing person's phone and they can see what is being said along with hearing what the person was saying. So if they miss something, they can go back in the conversation and see what they missed. It is pretty sweet. I love my job. I love helping people with something that they can't do or something that is hard for them to do. It is really rewarding.
Well, that is pretty much what is going on in my life at the moment. I hope I didn't bore the reader to death. But if you got this far then I guess you are still reading :) I hope I get better at this blogging thing!! :)
Until next time,
Ashley Pahl
